Tom Fiore

After seven years of the same shitty bio I decided to break down and update this thing. The last time I did this my son was only three and tugging at me because he had to go to the bathroom. Well guess what? He is ten now and doesn’t need help anymore. I am not quite sure what to write but I will do my best and without a doubt bore many. I am not very surprised that we have been together now for 10 years. We have managed to separate our relationship as band mates from our friendship. Many times what kills a lot of bands is the fact that they become too personal and therefore take offense on a personal level rather than what it is. A band. We go out, play loud, and have a lot of fun. We have been lucky to attract interest from many age groups and that is why we have the turnouts that we do. I have been playing since I was 8 or so but didn’t get completely into it until I saw a Judas Priest concert on MTV at 15 and was so inspired that I went out the next week and bought a new guitar and started playing it constantly. I went from listening to my father say “ You better keep practicing”, to him telling me that I better do something besides playing or I will find myself out of the house. But I have always credited my father for the reason why I am still playing today. Shit, who wants to be practicing “Camp Town Races” at the age of 9 when you could be out playing baseball or football in the street? I would have quite after 2 maybe 3 years tops if it weren’t for my dad. So I went through the usual routine that many musicians in this city go through; starting a band, someone quits, getting into another band, someone quits, this person doesn’t like what we are doing, someone quits. Always the same shit. I always wrote original music though. Ever since I was 16 or 17 and I think that is why I am so obsessed with great songwriters. I love to listen to all styles of music and listen to song composition. I think that is why I have such high regards to Cornell and Grohl. They not only are great musicians, but they also have a ridiculous talent for writing great songs. I am very happy that we had the opportunity to write and record our cd. It was a cool path and hopefully we can do it again. I won’t bore you with the technical stuff like what amp or guitars I use. If you actually care, you are a musician and probably think I suck anyway. But I will say that I LOVE my Mesa Boogie amps………and Strats……..and Les Pauls……..and Ibanez. I am in my fourth year back at school. Majoring in Mechanical Engineering and would love to chug a bottle of Drano because of it. I am the guitarist for my nephews band Gauge and love everything about it. We were fortunate to play the Whisky a Go Go this summer and plan to return to LA in the near future. WE NEED MONEY! Hint Hint. So after all this, go ahead and wipe the spot of boredom drool that has accumulated at the corner of your mouth, scratch your crotch and remember……..Daves Planet is like a sore penis……..you just can’t beat it!

Peace,

Tommy
